This day was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. We began our day (after a great breakfast) at DANY Studios (Dance Art New York). There we learned about and practiced stage combat! Here's a video sample of what the guys got to do: Stage Combat Video. We also had a Q&A session with Broadway pianist Mat Eisenstein.
We then walked over to John's Pizzeria to have lunch, when who surprised us but Brother David Galinski! (see previous entry).
After lunch we bused over to Queens for a tour of the Louis Armstrong House. Louis lived in the house from 1943 until his death in 1971. This was a really special moment for the guys and me.
We then drove back to Manhattan for a very cool tour of Radio City Music Hall. Television does not do that venue justice. It is immense, artistic, beautiful, and a feat of engineering.
Our last stop of the day was a spectacular performance of Jersey Boys! It featured the Tony Award-winning actor, John Lloyd Young, in the role of Frankie Valli. The performance earned a standing ovation and a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from the Shamrocks. Despite the music being more than twice as old as they are, the guys LOVED IT!
